The Importance of Local Artisans
Indlu firmly supports independent creators, acknowledging that independent local artisans are the backbone of communities.
Supporting local artisans directly contributes to the livelihood of communities as it facilitates job opportunities and provides income. This fosters a cycle of where local artisans can support their families and reinvest into their community.
Local artisans often incorporate traditional methods and characteristics into their work that reflect their cultural heritage, enriching a worldwide tapestry of diverse cultural heritage and expression, helping preserve sacred artistry, ensuring cultural traditions transcend to future generations.
INDLU Gifts is proud to show our love and appreciation for independent creators, and help make a positive impact on homegrown craftship.

Owl In The Moss
The Owl in the Moss textile range was established in 2016 out of a passion for quality soft furnishings and a love for fine art.
We strive to create products that celebrate the beauty of South Africa's flora and fauna and bring our customers a little closer to the wonders and obscurities of the natural world.
Designed and made in South Africa, The Owl in the Moss range uses one of a kind botanical and ornithological illustrations to create a range of locally made, eco-conscious products - for years of enjoyment in your home.
Oh Nice
Oh Nice is a contemporary design studio that creates bespoke, handcrafted wooden decor and home items.
Born from the love of woodwork, design and the simple idea that discarded timber can be re-imagined into something new, functional and beautiful.
Exploring shapes & materials and trying to minimise waste, a majority of our décor items are, where possible, made from reclaimed wood or from wood by-products.
Bringing the joy that simple, functional products bring to the home.
A Love Supreme
Our name was inspired by John Coltrane’s jazz album, A Love Supreme. This excerpt from his liner notes continues to inspire us to step outside of the ordinary and use our gifts to bring joy to others.
Launched in 2014 as a daring detour from their graphic design agency, husband and wife team, Ryan and Leanne Botha, have infused aLoveSupreme with their inspired verve, playful sense of humour and non-negotiable commitment to quality every step of the way.
“Bold and unashamedly bright, our hand-drawn illustrations are the hallmark of every product we make. Instantly recognizable and always original, they elevate the ordinary, often taking mundane objects and moments and transforming them into something more.”
ReLight
“My favourite childhood memories all revolve around fires: sizzling burgers, a good ol’ spit, Chinese-style, or a simple bring & braai was enjoyed together as a family. Braaiing was a tradition in the Lerm house; something we did weekend after weekend, which led my dad, Kobus, to invent the very first ReLight prototype.
When I think of his jar filled with stones and paraffin, I can’t help thinking of him barefoot and shirtless in his PT-shorts, fiddling with a pair of tongs around a fire. It’s my heart’s polaroid of him.”
- Letitia, the founder of ReLight

Alkaline
Alkaline, founded in 2021 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, is a home decor brand that epitomizes the fusion of functionality and style under the creative direction of Chelsea Kunhardt. Born from a humble beginning in a laundry room, Alkaline initially focused on crafting handmade soaps, but a pivotal shift occurred when Chelsea introduced a handmade soap dish, steering the brand toward specializing in homeware products.
Inspired by the simplicity and symmetry of geometric patterns, Chelsea utilizes eco-friendly and non-toxic materials in every creation, ensuring that each item is not only aesthetically pleasing but also environmentally conscious. Her commitment to high-quality, handmade craftsmanship and a sustainable ethos transforms ordinary spaces into stunning showcases of design.
With a dynamic palette of colors and textures, and an ever-evolving exploration of new materials and techniques, Alkaline offers unique décor solutions that promise to elevate the essence of any home. We are immensely grateful for the community’s support as Alkaline transitions from a passion project into a community-embraced brand, eager to explore new horizons while staying true to the ethos that sparked this remarkable journey.
